FÄRGARGÅRDEN

I began Sunday with a friend at Färgargården. It's a lovely café, close to green and water.
I had coffee and waffle ☆

It's nice to take Sundays slow and just chat and enjoy time.

BBQ

The day before yesterday I went out for BBQ. The weather was lovely and I had this year's first sausage.
The weather today is 27 Celsius, so we are going to head out to the park again and grill!

Can you feel summer?

pure white

The base is white, but what I like is that it still looks so warm and comfy.

love the planet

I just placed an order at Eleven.se because my d Program skincare from Japan ran out...so I'm desperate after a new alternative.

I decided to try out skincare from 100% Pure. It's organic skincare, and I chose a jasmine green tea tonique and moisturizer. While so I also decided to try out this so called eye bright gel, which is also organic and earth-friendly.

I'll make a small review when I have tried these products for a week or so.

Happy Easter!

I hope that you all (like me) had a lovely weekend, filled with delicious food and sweets.
It feels like I'm 10pounds heavier *laughs*

the perfect shelf

I would LOVE to have one like this on the picture for my shoes.
I know that IKEA has their model "Expedit" (I had a white one before as a student), so maybe I will buy it once again *laughs*

I'm soon going to move back to Stockholm, it's approx 3 weeks left and still no apartment. I've been searching like crazy, so hopefully I will manage to catch one soon. On the other hand...I could take the train every morning...

Wish me luck :)

Weekends always tend to pass too quickly, but I feel all energized and pretty much ready for a new week.
I've some great news that I would love to share with everyone, but let's wait until Easter holidays.

my weekend

This weekend I've tried to not focus on too much work (but instead I ended up working...)
I have also discovered that the coffee at McDonald's in Sweden is delicious. Try it!

Yesterday I spent a couple of lovely hours at a friend's place. Wine, fruits, chocolate and my chocolate muffins (heartshaped!) was served. I am so happy that after a stressfull week, I could have such a lovely weekend with family and friends. More of these kinds of weekends please!

Tomorrow: Monday. A new week. New adventures.

February 19, 2011

it was glitter and glamour

On Tuesday I have a friend turning 26, but yesterday she held a birthday party at her place.
She made all this lovely food (housewife-warning! *laughs*), and she was a great host.

Happy Birthday Ines!

see my work

Besides being a office lady for an international company right now, I'm still doing my side project for a Japanese restaurant here in Sweden.

So I finally decided to share what I've been doing, check out this Facebook page :)

or the link below:
http://www.facebook.com/pages/ShinNori/155418744506788

This project is soon going to be finished, these past weeks has been hectic, but I love it.
Building an image, a dream for someone else to feel, it is really amazing.
For this project I have really tried to find the core and essence and apply it on all aspects around the restaurant. Everything from the smallest cup to the invitation cards. I want to tell a story and at the same time create a dream through the pictures.

I hope that you all will like it as much as I do, give ShinNori a visit if you are around the Linköping area.

the first wine&cheese night 2011

Yesterday I hosted this year's first wine&cheese night with a couple of great friends.
We had different kinds of cheese: brie/goat cheese, cranberry brie and one unknown :) They all were lovely!

I also baked cupcakes, this time with a purple sweet potato frosting.
The choice of wine was a bottle of MASI passo doble malbec corvina and a small bottle of sparkling sake (hou hou shu).

Thank you for a lovely night!

This Week

macarong.se

Lovely week, not for my throat because it has began hurting (a cold?), I know exactly who it is from...*sigh*
Anyway, my morning has consisted of a lot of phonecalls, breakfast has yet reached my stomach and it's almost lunchtime. And no, this is not a st*pid diet. I just haven't got the time yet. Trust me, I'm the girl that eats at least 5times a day.

So what is happening this week?
I can reveal that I am signing a contract for a new work! Hopefully by tomorrow or Wednesday *yay* I cannot really tell you which company yet, but I will tell you all soon!

My last phone call to Macarong (above, they have divine Macarons) also went well, they are interested in collaborating with my recent project, which you can see here. The Facebook-page is not 100% done yet, but it should be in the end of this month. We are getting near and soon ready for opening, which is great news and fun since I've been doing this since last September-month. We only have some final touches left, which is also the fun part: interior design and decoration.

So I have a couple of meetings left, some awaiting phone calls and hopefully (and a bit sad, because the part as a buyer is really fun and exciting), this will be my last week of flexible work time *laughs* But I cannot wait until beginning to work with some more routine.

Oh, and I also managed to book in a date for an Oslo-weekend in March (which will be fun fun fun) and next week this year's first wine&cheese night with some friends. I can sense that this month is going to be LOVELY.

But first, breakfast.

1.1.11

Happy New Year!
I hope that you all had a lovely New Year's Eve, because I had a spectacular evening!
We began at a friend's home with a three course dinner. Everything was just perfect, I have to thank our hosting couple E and M, lot's of applause for both of you!

We then ended up playing a guessing game all night long, it was so fun.
Yesterday really made me realize how much I have missed to celebrate with my friends and family. Yesterday was friend's day, today is family day.

Pic 1.
A box wine shaped like a handbag, ladies (and gents) this is how all the box wines should look like! *laughs*

Pic 2.
Christmas gift from W, although I couldn't wear them since it's still 10cm snow outside...

Pic 3.
I just had to take a picture with this lovely box bag wine.
Yesterday's outfit: H&M draped skirt, Esprit velvet blazer & a simple black body from Gina Tricot.

Cupcake heaven

If there is something I like to bake, it has to be cupcakes. I always use a carrotcake-bottom (it feels healthier and it gives the cupcake a very flavor:ish richness).

While working some-days ago I stumbled across this cupcake stand, isn't lovely?!

Year 2010 is coming to its end. How fast this past year has been! Last year I celebrated New Year in Hokkaido, that trip still feels like yesterday for me. But even after that I've been to Japan several time, three times this year? I think I've already lost count *laughs*

Thinking back to year 2005, to be more precise the summer of 2005, when I first embarked to Japan, how much a person can change over 5years! If you asked me then what I would be doing or what I wanted to do then, my answer would not be same.

Japan has taught me so much about life and I have found so much happiness there. I tasted my first green tea ice-cream there, learned how to eat umeboshi, met lot's of lovely people, learned how to snowboard, discovered the way of a healthy life, experienced a very rich and fantastic culture, went to my first temple visit, had the ability to wear a traditional kimono, saw fireworks by the river...the list is never-ending. But most surprising of all, I met love.

So what is going to happen next year? Do I dare to guess or say?

But I'm sure of one thing, it'll be as lovely as these past five years.

The world through Facebook's eye

Isn't this picture amazing?
The light shows where the Facebook users resides and their connection through the whole world.

China seems a bit absent...

HOME SWEET HOME

My trip to Japan is over. I got back yesterday around 6PM, sleepy as h*ll, but I insisted on McDonald's on our way home *laughs*

I've been un-packing my luggage today and trying to get use to my the Swedish keyboard with åäö again...not as simple as you may think. My mind seems to settle and adjust quite fast, which can prove quite functional and un-functional sometimes...I guess the latter now...

These pics were taken during my trip to Heirinji Zen Temple. A very beautiful and peaceful place as you can see. The leaves were so pretty! It's hard to imagine that right now when Sweden is filled with bright white snow, Japan is actually still having autumn:ish weather.

Today it's Lucia in Sweden, are you going to celebrate?
I had a saffron bun for breakfast, really missed those :)

Ok, must continue with all the un-packing (I hate leaving my suitcase filled with stuff and unpacked).
Stay tuned for my food-love-crazy-album on Facebook later!
